The Solve Long Covid Initiative is committed to accelerating research into Long Covid and reducing barriers to clinical trial participation.
Solve works with patient groups, researchers, clinicians, drug developers and government agencies to find answers sooner rather than later so that millions can be helped.
Did you know that up to 30% of Covid-19 patients develop Long Covid? The CDC estimates that over 20 million Americans are suffering from Long Covid and over 2% of the U.S. labor force has already been adversely affected. Long Covid also disproportionately affects underserved communities and more women than men are likely to have it. Consider:
- Some may develop debilitating symptoms weeks or months after even a mild case and don’t realize that their health issues are a result of a prior COVID-19 infection.
- Patients suffer from a wide variety of disabling symptoms including cognitive issues and crippling fatigue that can leave them unable to work and upend their lives.
- Right now, there is little understanding of Long Covid nor any proven treatments or cures.
You likely know someone suffering from Long Covid, and there are most certainly people in your community suffering as well.
That’s why the Solve Long Covid Initiative (part of Solve ME/CFS Initiative, a 501(c)(3) organization) in conjunction with the Entertainment Industry Foundation (a 501(c)(3) organization) has launched a new public service (PSA) campaign to generate awareness about the symptoms of Long Covid, create empathy for sufferers, and emphasize the urgent need for research into this complex disorder.
