America Honors the High School Class of 2020 celebrated the more than 3 million high school seniors across the country who missed their graduation due to COVID‑19.

The Entertainment Industry Foundation, XQ Institute, and the LeBron James Family Foundation hosted a one-hour primetime special that aired across ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC, and streamed on multiple platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, PEOPLE, and YouTube.

As the COVID-19 crisis prompted the canceling of high school graduation ceremonies across the country, the nation’s biggest media companies joined forces to host a joyful tribute to the Class of 2020.

All four major broadcast networks and leading social media and streaming platforms simulcast the one-hour primetime special on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at 8p ET/PT, 7p CT, honoring the more than 3 million high school seniors across the country.

All four major broadcast networks and leading social media and streaming platforms simulcasted the one-hour primetime special.

Curated by high school students and educators throughout the country, with the support of the American Federation of Teachers, this commercial-free broadcast included a collection of commencement addresses, celebrity performances, and inspirational vignettes.

The televised event also featured a breakaway at the end of the show, offering hundreds of local affiliates the opportunity to celebrate the achievements and resilience of high school students in their local communities.
